I want my money back. Dont buy this or you will feel the same. I just finished an entrepreneurship competition and this is exactly what goes into a business plan; however, this is not worth the asking price. There are ONLY 15 PAGES! (including info on the authors ego, a prilogue and epiloque, and other worthless crap) and its common sense stuff. Moreover, it doesnt tell you how to accomplish the steps, just that the steps exist. Just Google the steps and save yourself money. There are other, better sources out there and most are free.
Good but...
Good content for sure... But very short and perhaps too sweet. Having more content doesnt necessarily mean better though.
Great read...concise, yet meaningful!
As someone with entrepreneurial ambitions I am surprised at some of the low ratings this book has received. Perhaps the ratings are driven by incorrect expectations. If someone wants to turn into an entrepreneur by spending $0.99 on iTunes, well then the person is bound to be dissatisfied. The target audience for this book is someone venturing into the realm of entrepreneurship and wondering when is the right time to jump off the cliff - this book explains, in simple terms, what it takes to have a parachute when jumping off the cliff. "The 7 Steps" listed in the book may seem obvious but, many a time, are taken for granted and are often not given enough significance in the initial stages of the venture as the entrepreneur is wrapped around his/her own reasons (usually emotional, and at times, egoistical) as to why the venture should be brought to light. Unless a "would be" entrepreneur has satisfactory answers to the seemingly obvious questions in the book, the individual is not ready to get the venture off the ground, without introducing a very high degree of failure-risk. The book is a simple read, focuses on the crux of what it takes to be an entrepreneur, and more importantly, highlights when it is the right time to quit your day job. Concise and yet meaningful reads on the topic of entrepreneurship do not come any simpler than this. Highly recommended!
Terrific book, very well written and street-smart advice
This is a terrific book, one that anyone with entrepreneurial interests should read. Street-smart advice, clearly laid out in an easy to grasp structure. This book distills the lessons learnt from real world experience into a concise format. An absolute gem!
Quite a good read...
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The authors style is direct and to the point. It helps the reader focus and understand key takeaways. Examples from personal experiences help cement theory with real life examples. Readers can gain valuable fund raising tips to maximize their chances of success. The concise and complete nature will appeal to many entrepreneurs who find it difficult to go through voluminous readings.
For every entrepreneur in the making
Excellent book with easy to understand advise on evaluating an entrepreneurial opportunity. The content reflects the authors experience. I would prefer to read this book rather than 300 page text books filled with theoritical and academic content.
Not just common sense
This book provides solid advice for would-be entrepreneurs. There is plenty of information out there on how to accomplish individual tasks, but this is a great big picture perspective that can prevent you from going down the rabbit hole before you are ready. A great value IMHO.
