Phonics Make a Word supports both Phonics and Spelling. The application is for children just beginning to read. The words all have short vowel sounds. More advanced children should try Phonics Advanced, with long vowel sounds and double vowels. Phonics Make A Word includes five different phonics short vowels groups. Each group has about 30 CVC words so there are about 150 words included in the game. The app support multiple user accounts and report cards. There are awards and bonus game to encourage child to play and learn. Ok, but very short

IMO its not worth the $2.99 (which we paid for to "top in") for the short program that it is. My child can finish all the words in a short amount of time. However, with this said and for the little amount of words provided (compared with another free phonics program Ive seen), what and how it teaches is great. I just wish there were 3 times as many words provided. I personally will not buy another app from this company unless they start putting in more features for the money. Otherwise, please just sell the app for $.99, which is at most what I would pay for the little amount of material given.

Great phonics game for beginning readers. Each letter is sounded out to help the child figure out how to spell the word that describes the displayed picture. As an adult I found the voice irritating but it is aimed for kids. :)
