iDownload for Dropbox at Mac App Store analyse

This is perhaps the stupidest app I’ve ever seen. It loads the dropbox website in an app window. Basically, what you can do in Safari or Chrome. My wife bought this by accident, and it’s incredibly disappointing. Don’t waste your money. Just launch a browser.

I’ve been looking for a replacement to the DropBox app that allows me to access files on demand without syncing them all to my machine. This appeared to be the solution until I purchased it and found it to be nothing more than a browser window embedded in an app. Whats more, you get forbidden errors for not being signed in when you attempt to access files when not in “desktop mode”. Do not waste your time or money with this until it is flushed out further.

This app is just a cloud viewer. It can’t be used to alter documents and so far I haven’t been able to look at photos. If your looking for the actual dropbox app go to the dropbox website. The full app is there for free. I wish I’d checked there first, instead of going to the Apple App Store. That is what I get for making assumptions. Oh! Well! Wouldn’t be the first time I wasted money because I wasn’t paying close enough attention. Fortunately, it was only $2.99. It could have been a lot worse.

I like having a mobile view of my Dropbox and having it in the menu bar. Nice job!

I thought I was getting a half way decent image viewe for Dropbox. If that’s what you want forget it. The only thing this app makes easier is going directly to the web site and downloading images. All of my images are already on my Mac, so why would I want to do that to ddownload images. Image viewer? What image viewer. I want my money back. Anybody that knows of a good image viewer / download client (not Finder or Viewer) put it in your review. I want my money back.
