The Cardiff Kook -- erected in 2007 -- was immediately ridiculed for its poor representation of a true surfer and was promptly labeled "Kook", surfer slang for a "wannabe" surfer. Universally panned, the statue has taken on an oddly beloved status through repeated and creative vandalisms of the Kook.
