Chart Maker at Mac App Store analyse

This app does one thing, and one thing only - create charts from data. It does a reasonably good job, but it has annoying, and confusing, shortcomings that stop it from being really useful. For example, it is impossible to cut and paste between cells in the app. Command x, for “cut” brings up the “quit” dialogue”. Copying headlines from other apps also doesn’t work. This makes zero sense, as now I have to retype all data. Additionally, the graphs are too inflexible. It is, for example, impossible to choose whether or not apply labels to graphs, it’s the preset or nothing. And talking of pre-sets, th default font is Apple Chancery. Seriously? While that font can be changed, font sizes for labels are reduced to small/medium/large which is incredibly unhelpful. If you really need to make some simple charts, there are better options out there. I would not buy this app again.

I bought Chart Maker App for the purpose of rendering charts for infographics. For me to do this I need to control the colors of chart through RGB #s. In the screen shots of the product at the developers website show an RGB# Symbol next to the Crayon symbol on the color control menu. The actual product does not have that control making the product useless to me. The support page does not work on the developers site. If the developer will contact me and has a different way to have RGB # number control I will happly change my rating. If this review does not change then it is a sign of the misrepresentation of the product and lack of support. As of today I would strongly suggest not buying this product.

I purchased this program to make simple charts for our office, thinking it would be easier than using MAC numbers and creating charts there. Unfortunately, not only can you not use arrow keys or the return key to navigate the chart, once you have the data loaded, they forgot to include the ‘Render Chart’ button as described in their instructions. Requesting a refund! I will reserve the right to revise this review based on their response, when and if, I receive one.
