Description
This app is designed to help you easily access useful information on how to use the Starling system to perform hemodynamic monitoring anywhere in the hospital. It provides an overview of dynamic assessment and fluid management and explains how the Starling system works and how it can help you stay in compliance with CMS protocols for the treatment of patients with severe sepsis or in septic shock.
Using videos and step-by-step instructions, the app guides you through the procedure for using the system to determine a patient’s fluid responsiveness – placing sensors on the body, performing a fluid challenge via passive leg raise or administration of a fluid bolus, reading the screens on the Starling monitor and interpreting Starling results – and features a protocol for ascertaining fluid responsiveness to guide treatment decisions. Also included are suggestions on addressing technical issues.
The “Learn More” section provides additional support and resources for ongoing education:
