The Chronicle of a Blood Merchant (Chinese: 许三观卖血记; pinyin: Xǔ Sānguān Mài Xiě Jì), is a full-length novel, written by Yu Hua (余华) in 1995. It describes the troubled life with warmth and love, while simultaneously showing peoples desire for survival amidst adversity with fierce plots. The protagonist of the novel, Xu Sanguan, pulled through one obstacle after another by selling his blood. When he grew old and found out no one wanted his blood any more, he collapsed.
