Waste of time

Whats the point of a free app that just asks you to subscribe - there werent even any preview pages ... Dont waste my time.

Well Worth The Price

After going through loads of titles this mag became my go-to for photog reading. From tips & tricks to kit review, this is the best $ spent. The special issues are a great bit of added value s well. Be advised that you have to purchase issues or subscribe. This treasure doesnt go for free.

Great content, poorly ececuted

I love the content that this publication provides, but their expertise clearly does not extend to delivering that high quality through this app. Its basically the equivalent of a PDF of every page. You have to constantly be zooming in and out to read articles or view different sized images, and the tap to zoom function was really poorly executed. You dont zoom accurately to a tapped text area or image, and always need to manually adjust the zooming. These kinds of issues make it worthless to purchase digital content. Save your money for the print version until they manage to improve this substantially.

I greatly enjoy the content this magazine provides, but the app leaves much to be desired. For starters, the content is more or less a straight digital copy of the print magazine. This makes viewing on the iPad awkward since youre constantly having to double tap to zoom and then scroll to see the content once youve zoomed. There is also no interactive content, video, or anything else that leverages the iOS platform. Content on the iPad opens up a lot of possibilities, both for content developers and readers. As far as I can tell, Digital SLR Photography took the path of least resistance here and didnt innovate whatsoever. They should take a look at Guitarist Deluxe for inspiration.
