No need to go into deep menus, most day to day functions are right there on the main screen. Doc Scan can export to the cloud in PDF format. Share your documents with anyone. But no internet connection is needed for the scanning and OCR processing, this all happens on your iPhone or iPad only. Security guaranteed for confidential documents. Doc Scan uses optical character recognition (OCR) on your documents so you can do a simple, but powerful text search on them afterwards. Storing your documents within Doc Scan is practical and secure, using our library feature. DOC SCAN FEATURES: • Document naming, storage inside the app and search • Multipage editing: reorder, delete and add pages • Email document as PDF • OCR • Printing via AirPrint • Share documents directly to the cloud in PDF format NOTE: The built-in OCR in Doc Scan is performed offline (no use of internet required anywhere). But it is limited, just for regular printed documents. Its main purpose is for locating keywords in documents and searching accordingly. If you have internet access and dont mind uploading your document, you can use the upload link to perform excellent OCR online. Feedback has been great so far: Best of the scanners yet. Can scan to email etc and also can print to my HP network printer via wifi! Brilliant app Finally! OCR völlig unbrauchbar

GalainHH · 12 years ago · v1.2

amazing

Its PDF downsampling option is cool less weight but quality.

Great portable scanner!

It was super easy to just use the phones camera, plus the auto edge detection was a nice time saver too. I loved that I could email a PDF version of the scan as well. Great app! Glad to have downloaded it!

Bad OCR is my fault??

zerolagtime · 11 years ago

If this app would tell me when I took a good picture for OCR, I might do better. As it was, my phone took a blurry picture that I didnt know about until after I had scanned a lot of pages. And theres no dynamic range adjustment if lighting or page contrast is less than optimal. Sure, theres flash, but it always washes the page out. And cropping doesnt work that well - it likes to focus on standalone pictures instead of text, even when the white page is on a dark brown table. And the crop box corners are really hard to grab on an iPhone 5. Three stars though because the UI workflow wasnt too bad, although clearly not designed for scanning more than 10 pages in a sitting since too much manual tweaking is needed.
