EasyEnvelopes at Mac App Store analyse

Die App sah wirklich vielversprechend aus. Leider lässt sich die Absendeadresse nicht einfügen, es folgt immer ein Totalcrash. Darüber hinaus finde ich keine Möglichkeit die Schrift der Empfängeradresse zu ändern, es sei denn, man gibt die Adresse manuell ein. Hier ist noch viel Verbesserungsbedarf von Nöten. Idee und Umsetzung eigentlich super, funktioniert nur leider aktuell nicht, daher Finger weg bis Update erscheint!

Ob ein von EE geliefertes oder ein selbst erstelltes Format genutzt wird: Beim Druckaufruf wird in dem üblichen Druckerfenster als "Paper Size" "Custom" aufgeführt. Dieses "Custom"-Format ist nicht in der Lage, die vom Drucker geforderten druckfreien Bereiche (unten, oben, links u. rechts) zu erkennen, so dass die KOMPLETTE Kuvertgröße als bedruckbar an den Drucker ausgegeben wird. Daraufhin verweigert mein Drucker (Epson StylusPhoto R800) den Druck, und zwar unabhängig davon, ob der Adress-/Absendertext sich im druckbaren Bereich befindet oder nicht. Abhilfe: Wenn der Druckbefehl erscheint, muss die Paper Size "Custom" geändert werden in ein passendes Format, das der Drucker kennt (z. B. Envelope C6) oder man muss im Druckbefehl (in Easy Envelope nicht möglich) ein Format erstellen, das zum EE-Format passt und zusätzlich die nicht-druckbaren Bereiche berücksichtigt. Beispiel: Epsons "Envelope C6" hat das Format "114 x 162 mm" und NICHT-druckbare Bereiche von 3,18 mm links, rechts, oben und von 20,11 mm unten (diese nicht druckbaren Bereiche sind bei meinem Drucker abhängig von der gewählten Papiergröße, also nicht überall gleich). Ein vergleichbares Format von EE weist zwar die gleichen Maße aus; aber als NICHTdruckbarer Bereich wird überall "0 mm" angezeigt. Leider ist folgerichtig der nicht-druckbare-Bereich auch nicht bei der Einrichtung der Adressen-/Absendertexte im EE-Layout-Fenster erkennbar und kann daher dort nicht so ohne Weiteres bei der Anordnung der Texte berücksichtigt werden, selbst dann nicht, wenn ein vom Drucker akzeptiertes Format gewählt wird. Fazit: Eine Nutzung der Software ist inzwischen möglich, aber leider etwas umständlich. Der Zugriff auf Adressen des Mac-Adressbuchs erleichtert die Arbeit erheblich. Ein Gestalten der Adressen (Anordnung, Schrift, Größe) ist problemlos möglich. Wegen der o.a. Schwiergikeiten ist ein Probedruck unumgänglich. Ohne diese Schwierigkeit hätte ich 5 Punkte vergeben.

Wenn man viele Umschläge druckt dann als Unternehmer, nur wird auf den Umschlägen ERST der Name und DANN der Firmenname angelegt?! Bringt GARNICHTS. Ansonsten nettes Tool was für Privathaushalte gut geeignet ist….

We cannot format the return address such as changing the font, style, etc. The help file says there is a drop down menu on the return address window but it wont activate itself. After several attempt we get the the Spinning Beach Ball of Death and the application freezes. This is under Mac OS X Lion v. 10.7.4 on a MacBook Pro Retina. I wish there was a way to get my money back. We will keep using the East Envelope Widget which works very well. We do not recommend you purchase this application, stay with the FREE widget version.

Unlike rpapp, I had no trouble running the program after downloading and installing it in OSX 10.8 (Mountan Lion). It does exactly what it says it will do, and the interface is elegant. The ability to change the fonts, sizes and alignment of the address and return address worked just fine (just select the text you want to adjust, then click it, and a popup appears for adjusting the type specifications). Ive also owned various Ambrosia applications for years, including the Easy Envelope widget, and theyve always worked well, and its my experience the developer is responsive through its support access.

After spending a very frustrating hour trying to coax Contacts to print my Christmas card envelopes, I downloaded EasyEnvelopes. If I had known how much time it would save me, I would have started with EasyEnvelopes and gladly paid twice the price.

Finally a software that makes sense when its time to make envelopes. Far better than Contacts from Apple. Keep on the good work people at Ambrosia...
