A EVITER.

Inutile!
It does only 1 thing yet it doesn’t do it right
As a developer, I don’t like writing negative reviews so apologies to the developer in advance. The hidden desktop comes back randomly. The menu switches from ‘Show Desktop’ to ‘Hide Desktop’ randomly when the desktop is acutally hidden already. The backgound image gets zoomed to 5 times it’s original size. There are no preferences except for ‘launch at login’ but this is by design. I think Apple should include this option in their system preferences since everyone seems to be riding the ‘zen’ wave these days.
Fast and easy to use, works like a charm
I use a screen recording app to make video tutorials, but I have an enormous amount of “organized clutter” on my desktop that I like having quick access to, but would just as soon not show up when making screen grabs. This turned out to be the perfect answer. It’s a fast and easy way to declutter the desktop, without having to bother with workflow-disrupting options like Terminal commands or dragging folders around. A single click of the dot in the top bar brings down the menu to show or hide desktop. I also like that the developer made it a plain dot - It’s unobtrusive and doesn’t distract from the content in my screen recordings. Highly recommend.
