Lets Golf! 3 at Mac App Store analyse

With LetsGolf3 its "FREE." This is a marketing ploy! Once you begin playing you notice that your characters stamina (aka Energy) decreases. In order to play more than one hole at a time (e.g. like you could in LetsGolf2) you have to pay "REAL" money. So its up to you- 1) Get the game for "Free" and pay with your time…but be forewarned…bring a book, sit in a comfy chair, and enjoy watching your character slowly decay before your eyes 2) Get ready to throw away your money 3) Skip this version and enjoy some time with real people!!

I am totally fine with the decreasing energy point. I am not addicted to this game anyway. But the major problem is I cannot sync the game process with ipad and iphone. The apps for Ipad and Iphone is perfect. However, this app for Mac is not. I dont want to repeat the game process on my mac again. I try a lot of ways to sync with my ipad and iPhone, but none of them work. Please fix it.

Would have loved this game, but they nickel and dime you to pay for "energy points" to keep playing. I would rather be charged up front than deceived like this. Have never been so angry after a purchase in the app store.

Dont try to port "Facebook-style" games into iOS through the "Energy" style system. It just ruins the platform when you make people pay to play per hole. This is not Facebook.

The actual look of the game and game mechanics are good, but there are just so many problems that this game is mired in that it detracts from the overall enjoyment. 1. Meager energy points First off, the low amount of energy points you get really do kill the fluidity of the game. if anything, instead of 5 energy points, it should be either 9 or 18, with a shorter regeneration period. Most people, especially children, wont have all the time in the world to wait for the energy points to regenerate. This is the prime reason why people download other games which have better mechanics and an overall better gaming experience. There just isnt enough time to enjoy and love this game when youre cut off after every 6-7 holes or even less when you have to retry holes because of their bad design. 2. Bad course design You can clearly tell that the courses arent constructed by someone that plays golf. Some of the greens in this game arent reachable in regulation (two putts is regulation on a standard golf course). Even if you maxed out the golfers stats, it degenerates into painful course management that doesnt give the players any options. I dont mind the elevation changes or even the fact that some holes are played underwater, on the moon, or in an Egyptian temple, because thats just the art style. But the holes have to be playable to the point where you can realistically make birdie or par in regulation. 3. No way to select high/low trajectory Most of the gripes that people will encounter is the fact that you cant changed the trajectory of shots with any club. Yes, you can draw and fade shots, but you cant execute low punch shots or high trajectory spin shots. Most of the shots you hit will run right past the green, and into any hazards that lurk behind it. Even with distance control (not hitting every shot at full force) and spin control, youll find that most balls will still act as if theyre on ice once it reaches the putting surface, even with maximum backspin. Trajectory is key to having balls hold on the green, and this game just doesnt execute it well at all. 4. In-game app purchases This is probably the most broken part of this game - the fact that Gameloft is forcing people to pay in order to expand their enjoyment of the game. In all honesty, I would recommend getting rid of the energy point system, and giving players more incentives to play the courses, such as making a more prevalent online leaderboard, which can give players a larger sense of competition and community, or even added unlockables that ARENT the other courses. Unlockables should be different club sets, balls, or even the use of a caddie or the back tees. The in-game app purchases should only be limited to special courses and attire. In summary, the underlying game is great to play, the graphics are as good as youre going to see in a golf game, but the energy point system needs to go, the in-app purchases need to be repurposed, the course designs need work, trajectory MUST be included, and maybe using an online leaderboard or having extra unlockables will give people a reason to play this game. Gameloft has taken a storied franchise and basically thrown it into a wood chipper, giving you an experience that would make you want to save your money for other apps that would ring more enjoyment and entertainment for the user.

My first complaint is the power guage doesnt show up until AFTER I shoot. No idea of the power needed (quick tap) until after Ive started the shot. The next is I HAVE to sit through the flyby for a hole - every time. Yea, its free. Lets Golf 2 is a little more enjoyable.
