I like that I can pick any date in the past or distant future. This is good for RPG and writers. The down side is the annoying animation every time you change the date. It cycles through all of the moons a few times before showing what the moon is for the requested date. Initially its cute but it gets old real fast. It does it even if you move to the previous or next day. AND theres no way to turn it off. I wish it included the name of the moon phase as well as the moon date. Thats what I really wanted.
