Instructive

I got this tutorial right after purchasing Logic Pro X, so I was a complete beginner when I started out. I acquired it with the hopes it would help me put together professional sounding Hip Hop tracks and it turned out to be really instructive. It shows you many of the essential features you might need when working on your music. Through step by step videos, Booker Edwards, the narrator, puts together a complete, layered Hip Hop instrumental. I followed his instructions carefully, one by one, trying to reproduce the music he was creating, which I kind of managed after some dabbling. I now have quite a few tools to start working on my own projects and am looking forward to rewatching the videos to get the result I am looking for. There are however a few minor details I wish would have been cleared up. I think Booker Edwards was clear in his instructions, although I did have the feeling sometimes that he was addressing a public with a greater knowledge of music theory, which he actually advises us to work on. That means I was often able to do what he was doing on screen but was unable to understand why I was turning this nob or pushing that button at some points. But I guess that’s stuff you learn as you get to know Logic Pro X. Also, for the drums, he uses MPC software and hardware which do not come with Logic, so I was forced to use what instruments where available on Logic. Again this is a detail, Logic Pro X is pretty complete. One last thing, I wished he would give a few website or software references to find audio samples as he often uses some on his computer that aren’t in mine. So overall, I am glad I purchased this tutorial, it’s a good introduction. I also think users of Garage Band on Mac or iPad, IPhone, etc… might have an easier time as much of the look and feel of Logic is similar. Thanks Booker Edwards, I learned a lot. PS: please do an update on this tutorial adding a few references

Potential, but Flawed

Quick Bullet Points: -Program freezes up if you try to scrub video forward or backward -Program does not advance to the next video (automatically or manually) -Trying to scrub or advance/step back requires user close and re-open the app -The app is from May of 2014, but the information is from 2013—this is especially frustrating given the recent 10.1 update to Logic Pro I’ve reached out to macProVideo for help and will gladly raise my score pending extra information. As it stands now this program has decent but outdated information wrapped up in an app that is almost functionless. EDIT: I got a really prompt and useful reply from customer service that there will be an update to the app very soon.

Snare Tricks

The step edit tutorial with the snare drum was worth the money alone. Stuart
