Description

Almost the best thing to have happened since the big bang! QuickPhase is a simple, attractive lunar calendar, with information about the planets and the sun. It provides daily and monthly views of the moon's phase. It shows the position of the sun, the moon, and the planets, including when they rise and set. It has graphs of altitude vs time, and altitude vs azimuth (rectangular and polar). And it provides customisable tables that allow you to dig into the data and export the results to a spreadsheet. The positional parameters provided are distance, azimuth, altitude, hour angle, right ascension, declination, and ecliptic longitude and latitude, and current astrological sign. Also provided are the times of rise, set, transit and ante-meridian transit ("subtransit"); and, for the sun only, the times of civil, nautical and astronomical twilight. While for the moon only there is the age and lunation number, phase and brightness, and the dates of new moon, full moon, first quarter, third quarter, perigee and apogee, and the lunation number. All these values can be calculated for any time or any place. Values for the sun and the moon can be tabulated at daily or hourly intervals, and exported as CSV. And there is support for the Julian calendar, as well as the Gregorian one.
