This free 24/7 app not only makes available Pittsburghs most accurate forecast but allows users to get interactive with many of the resources available in Severe Weather Center 11. Summary of Features: - There is a new radar in the weather app that matches Live Storm Tracker Doppler 11 and also includes future radar to provide you with a likely path and outlook of storms. The radar has 250 meter resolution, the highest available. - New tracks - We added earthquakes and storm tracks as layers in the radar. Now you can track the location and magnitude of earthquakes as well for storms the speed, direction and type. Tap the “storm symbols” icon in the radar to see the list. - Push alerts are FREE for more than 25 alert types including everything from tornado warnings to winter storm warnings and tropical storm alert types. - Now you can scroll through the home screen to access most of what you need or want on one tab. - Place a location pin precisely where you want it for a specific address or any position on a map. This app probably would be good if it would stay on. Keeps shutting down - havent had a chance to see anything.

Good local weather app

Neatly designed app with features such as social media, photos, radar, forecast, and live viewing at certain news hours. The app could use more features to set itself apart from others such as average and record high / low temps. The only real bummer with this app is an unadvertised in-app purchase for $4.99 to enable the NWS safety alerts! If not for that, I would give it a higher rating.

Very limited video

Video only available when weekday tv newscast is broadcast. Would be nice if the latest one is always available to view, even if they are only updated on the broadcast schedule.

Couple things it could use

Not a bad app. Works smoothly with no crashes. But it is missing two key things. First, videos need to be "stamped" with a date and title. Ive no idea if the video is current or three days old. And in fact this Monday morning I figured out at the end at the video was from Saturday. The other thing is a "text" forecast. If I want to know what the weather is going to be like today, I want to read a paragraph that describes it. Seeing the stats of a snow cloud, the dew point, and the humidity doesnt help me to determine how tall my boots should be. Give me a sentence or two describing what the day will be like. Fix those two things and youve got yourself a four- or five-star app.

You broke it. status bar is white when it loads and it freezes the entire ipad.

Needs to be updated more frequently, not once a week

Update: 2/3/14 The video forecast I just watched is for THURSDAY, this is MONDAY... We just had 4 inches of snow today... Please fix this app so we get frequent updated forecasts in the video. Ridiculous otherwise. Make an effort people! This could be a great app. ***** Weve had severe weather for 3 days, today is Saturday and the "forecast" is for Thursday. What a joke. This used to be very good. Ive demoted it to one star.
