Loads of content, and easy UI. The offline map capability is really great for Yellowstone.
Love this app
Great app for visiting Yellowstone - or even dreaming about visiting.
Yellowstone App
Support answers quickly if needed. Good looking app with many entries made intelligently. Looks nice.
Functional, but not engaging or polished
As part of your travel "toolkit" Id say this app is functional, but not real handsome, creative or polished. Perhaps thats why I did not find the application particularly engaging or fun. Its like a cake that has the right ingredients, but just didnt turn out as good as it might have. Not the worst, but certainly not the best.
Yellowstone
There are two versions. If you buy the full version from within the free version, dont buy the FULL version later. Apple will let you purchase the same thing twice.
The best
First of all, it says in the description that your purchase is benefiting Yellowstone National Park. That right there is a big reason why you should get this app. The other reasons are: Unlike other Yellowstone apps, this one is all offline. Yes, it does have links to websites, but the app itself is offline. Meaning, no need to worry about finding a stable Internet connection in the park (which you wont be able to find anyways). Also, you know that this app is informed. Its the official Yellowstone app from the Yellowstone Association, for crying out loud. Im pretty sure these people know what theyre talking about. It has a field guide (which alot of other apps dont have). It has information on everything--I mean EVERYTHING--about Yellowstone, from how it was formed to the best hiking trails and every detail in-between. It has a feature that allows you to add a specific page to your "favorites" for future reference. The only thing Id add is a search bar. That, and the images are a little fuzzy, but this app is 110% worth it. And yeah, I said "110%" instead of "100%" on purpose.
Barely a Beta-Quality App
Workflows are very poorly done and the app totally lacks an intuitive navigational approach. The maps are not even as useful as the single sheet handout provided by Yellowstone. The app seems to be a framework of where the developer wanted to go but really is barely a beta-quality app. The app also crashes very frequently which ultimately places it in the forget it category.
