Description

The best 3D backgammon game on the AppStore.

ArtDeco Backgammon 3D brings you Backgammon in visually stunning 3D. Enjoy an intuitive game with a tactile experience that makes you feel like you are playing on a real art deco themed board.

The ArtDeco theme of the game ties in with the history of Backgammon as it grew and evolved in the New York clubs and societies of the 1920s. In an effort to capture this essence we bring you the game of Backgammon in the

timeless style of ArtDeco.

With multiple levels of AI to suit beginners and more advanced players, many features make gameplay feel intuitive and easy. The autosave and resume feature allows you to play the game as it suits you. If you don't have time

to finish a round, don't fret. Just exit the game, the next time you start it up you'll be back at the start of the round you were playing.

NB: There is no match play option currently; the doubling cube, match play rules and options are not used at present.

What’s New

Version 1.8.0

- Sometimes the 'End Turn' message didn't always show yet the dice were able to be picked up to end the turn. This visual bug has been fixed.

- The Fast Forward AI sometimes made a suboptimal move when bearing off, it is now performing better.

Art Deco Backgammon

Great game except for two things! First, the way the screen shifts when one player has all the pieces in the home row but the other player does not, very annoying when you try to pick up your next piece and the board is moving! One of the most annoying and useless things I've ever seen in a game! Second, the computer rolls way too many doubles on the higher difficulty levels! Thank you

Best I found so far

I like this game in general; I play in hard mode and only win occasionally which is good because luck of the dice is such an important determinant of the winner. Sometimes the computer feels a little too lucky (like there is one open spot that always gets hit) , but in general the luck seems pretty evenly divided.

Algorithm does not know how to play

Like many Backgammon programs this one keeps no score as in the Backgammon play - all the pips are in the home court while the winner gets all pips off. Does not score a backgammon - non other words one player has no pips off while the winner has all pips off. No score is kept for single player use. Time to redesign along traditional rules. Learn how to play a back game, a running game or middle game based on dice roll. Computer abuses doubles on plays - actually common to most computer games.
