This app has great customer reviews and it is excellent for learning basic Japanese Kanji.
Flash cards for every kanji and every vocabulary word from the JLPTN1 test.
•includes cards for the first 440 Japanese kanji from the first 3 grades of Japanese school
•learn an English meaning for each kanji (Heisig style to aid your memory)
•onyomi and kunyomi readings for each kanji
•over 1500 keywords which use only these kanji
•get a card right and it's taken out of the drill
•get it wrong and it's shuffled back in
•learn cards 10 at a time
•test yourself Japanese to English, or English to Japanese, or Japanese to Japanese (for kanji readings)
•you can choose which individual cards make up each drill as you go along, or easily include another 10
•we also have a voice reading for every Japanese word, so you can practise your listening and speaking skills too
•practice front to back, or back to front
•one card at a time, with the other side hidden, and hold to peek
•multichoice drills, with 4 possibilities to choose from for the other side
•memory/concentration game where all the card faces are hidden and you have to find matching pairs
