Description
The OFFICIAL ABRSM Violin Scales Trainer is a fun and rewarding way to practise scales and arpeggios for Violin. It’s been uniquely developed to combat the boredom and repetitiveness students often associate with routine scales practice and covers the ABRSM scales requirements for Violin at Grades 1-5.
This free lite version features content for one scale at each grade, plus the full Quiz function. You may upgrade to all content for Violin Grades 1 to 5 within the app.
There are five main features to help you build familiarity and confidence:
• Practice Area – for every scale and arpeggio you can view the notation and listen to example recordings played at exam tempo (or a different speed of your choosing)
• Play and Compare – record and review your own playing against example performances, reflect critically and monitor your progress
• Play with Band – follow the on-screen instructions and have fun playing the scale to a backing track
• Practice History – see your past activity and progress on each scale and arpeggio
• Quiz – Let Scales Trainer choose a selection of scales for you to practise. Perfect for a quick warm-up, or for getting in the zone for your exam.
Violin Scales Trainer can help you:

This versatile tool features a fantastic mix of interactive exercises and useful information to help you prepare for ABRSM exams. It’s a flexible tool which can be used in a variety of situations including individual practice sessions and lessons.
The app covers all scale and arpeggio requirements for Violin at ABRSM Grades 1 to 5.
NOTE: the piano scales content has been removed in version 2.0 of the app (July 2020), in line with the ABRSM Piano syllabus changes. If you wish to retain access to this legacy content, do not update the app. Our new Piano Scales Trainer app provides dedicated support for the new ABRSM Piano Scales requirements at Grades 1-5 (from 2021 onwards). This is a separate product available in the App Store.
