Established in 1896 as smithy, ABT Sportsline has developed to become the world’s leading refiner and tuner for brands of the Volkswagen Group. The company repeatedly sets trends in the industry through its innovative solutions, spectacular visual ideas and the highest benchmarks in quality. Fascinating high-tech cars like the ABT GTR also add to this. The family company is represented by 130 partners in Germany as well as in over 50 countries worldwide.
Motorsport is traditionally the company’s second mainstay. Initially as privateer team and later as AUDI AG factory team in the DTM, ABT Sportsline numbers among Europe’s most successful motorsport teams. Drivers representing the Allgäu based squad won the title five times since the year 2000. Since 2014 ABT also electrifies its fans in the newly formed FIA Formula E Championship. The only German outfit in the field of the series for electric vehicles immediately writes a small chapter in motorsport history in the debut years season opener. In Beijing the Abt squad, with Lucas di Grassi’s triumph, celebrates the first ever victory with an all-electric racing car.
