Description

Displays a photo-realistic aircraft style Airspeed indicator, or Speedometer on your iPhone. Modeled after analog instrumentation in general aviation aircraft. This application is a cool looking dual unit speedometer. The meter movement is smooth and realistic. See your current speed in both analog and digital displays simultaneously. Both displays can be configured independently to show Knots, Miles/Hour or Kilometers/Hour. 4 different scales. 50, 100, 200 and 400. A pop-up view displays all information coming from the iPhone GPS, including Latitude, Longitude, Altitude, Speed, and Uncertainty. Includes a simulation mode that allows the instrument to be demonstrated indoors without a GPS signal. Has a selectable smoothing effect to give the pointer a realistic movement. Requires a device with built in GPS and a good GPS signal. The iPhone GPS has a limited resolution and will update no faster than once a second. Additionally the iPhone GPS reports values that may be a few seconds delayed. It may take a minute or two for the iPhone GPS to "lock" and provide accurate values. You must be moving at a fast walking speed or better for the iPhone GPS to report a speed. A good GPS signal can usually be achieved with a clear view of the sky. This software has been tested with iOS version 4.2.1 through 5 Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

bugs : plusieurs blocages de lapplication; en unité km/h, impossible de saisir des valeurs > 200 km/h, bien quune échelle 0 - 400 soit prévue; joli graphisme. Jespère quune mise à jour corrigera mon problème

I turn it on when I drive and feel like in an aeroplane :) It is better in a car then altimeter :) Recommend to all aviation enthusiasts.

This is a very well done airspeed indicator. Having the adjustable scale and adjustable colored arcs is great. Sometimes takes a few seconds to update, but that is the fault of the iPhone GPS, not the fault of this application. By the way. Altimeter was probably pulled TO FIX IT! Give em a break! It costs a measly buck! Thanks

Awesome. Speed was right on with vehicle speedometer and varied with speed changes. Have altimeter and horizon indicator, cant wait til direction indicator available for iPhone4. Now if you can section the screen to have 4 gauges open at one time, when I drive into a fog bank all I have to do is look down at my phone.

I used this app enroute to Houston recently at FL360. We had a 165kt headwind and were indicated Mach .77. Our FMS groundspeed readout was 311kts. The APP indicated 310kts. Simply amazing. It works perfectly. I strongly recommend this app as a backup should the worst happen.
