The MIRS demonstrator is a Mobile Infra-Red Spectrometer pre-calibrated to measure specific solid materials. Based on a reflectance measurement, the MIRS device measures the spectral information of the material under test. The raw data is transmitted to the app and visualized graphically. It is possible to choose between classification measurements and quantitative analysis. For classification, the output is a comparative measurement where material identification is done relative to a predefined data base. Quantitative analysis gives the relative ingredient shares of the sample under investigation.
