Description

Have you ever wanted to travel back in time? Well, jump on the Ancient Earth time machine app and travel back to a time before the age of dinosaurs, before the evolution of flowering plants, before the last great Ice Age, and well before the appearance of the first humans on Earth. Ancient Earth: Breakup of Pangea vividly illustrates the breakup of the supercontinent of Pangea during the Mesozoic and Cenozoic (200 Ma-0 Ma). Watch as continents drift apart, mountain ranges rise and fall, new ocean basins open, landmasses are flooded by rising sea level, and polar ice caps wax and wane.

Super appli pour les reconstitutions paléogéographiques. fonctionne parfaitement. Idéal pour lenseignement de la géologie. Très pratique, on peut faire des captures décran si lon souhaite réutiliser des images dans des documents.

Great, and just half the story

I just discovered Dr Scoteses maps and was delighted to get the app so I could look at the movements at the poles. The time line is great and being able to lock onto a particular location or continent is very informative. The app only goes to 201 MYA! If you want the formation of Pangea from the Cambrian, you must buy another App. The app would have been rated 5. As it only provides a half the story, the rating is half.

The price maybe a bit steep for some people, but Ive always wanted one of these things. The graphics are a little chunky, and the globe might not handle like youre used to seeing a globe handle in, for example, the maps app, but if youre a bit of a geology buff, youll play with this thing for days! Thanks for making this!

Time Travel App!

This App works well and looks great. It shows the movements of continental chunks, mountain areas and flooded or dry regions from changes in local sea level. The graphics and colors are great on my iPad2. You can also rotate the globe to view what ever is your area of interest. Should be very handy for comparing the geographic arrangements at particular times and regions with particular evolving taxa.

Ive been looking for this type of tool for years! It is an awesome app, and if you like exploring the ancient earth: prehistoric deserts, seas, ice caps, land-bridges, and continents constantly altering, then this is the app for you! You can even pinpoint your current location! Worth it for anyone who is interested into ancient earth.
