Any Video Splitter teilt u.a. beliebig lange mp4-Dateien.

Once you figure it out

Sometimes Simple is Best

In short: great app for simple cutting down of video files into chunks because it can do it without encoding. Maybe not going to be everyone’s favorite because it is not very flashy and lacks some more advanced features other video editing software may have, but I was more than willing to shell out $5 for all the hours I saved using this one. I read a lot of reviews on other applications, and I was scared away by some of the negative reviews. I decided to take my chances on this app that had no reviews posted. I needed to split up .dv files that were up to 47.1 GB down to less than 4 GB so they would fit on a FAT32 formated external hard drive. This would have taken me hours if I had to find the “best” breaks in the video and then reencode the videos. Once I embraced the simplicity of Any Video Splitter I was done in minutes thanks to their no encode workflow. That being said, I was not able to fine tune my clip endings to the millisecond. This may be because my source files were just too large. Everytime I pressed the up or down arrow on the left it would jump about 4 hundredths of a second. The right arrows jump at 1 second intervals, and you can quickly drag and drop pins to rough cut it and it scrubs the video in realtime while you do this. To be fair if you want to have more precision there is an option to convert the file to MP4 first (that I did not try because I wanted to avoid lengthy encoding times). TIP: add all of your needed segments BEFORE fine tuning their locations (in my longest video this was about 44 segments or about 5 min each). Adding a segment after fine tuning reset all of my locations and redistributed them evenly. Note the segment durations at the bottom as a guide for how long your clips are.

The new version is perfect!

I needed a quick way to split a movie into various segments. This little app did the job! I couldn’t figure out how to use imovie, nor some other programs, but this one is plain simple to use.

Very nicely done

My experience

Wanted to move 1 hr video from Mac to PC. File too large to go the USB/FAT option & wireless connection kept stalling. Tried using ethernet cord and all I accomplished was messing up my network settings. Found this little program for $4.99. It did not work so I contacted their web site & got an instant reply. The problem was my file. It had a title track in addition to the video and audio. Once he showed me how to mux the file and remove the title track the video splitter program worked fine. Great value for $4.99 & super customer service!
