该软件用时间和保存下来的经纬度数据，计算当地任意时刻太阳的位置。所以不用联网也基本上能正常使用。
计算这些有什么用了？当然不仅仅是告诉你日出日落时间，虽然她确实能很好地告诉你日出日落时间，还能查询全国各地的日出日落时间。更重要的是告诉你太阳在任意时刻的方位，这样我们就能知道太阳此刻的高度角还有在地面投射的影子的方向。当软件得到这些数据时，她就能通过物体的影长告诉你实物的高度，也能通过影子方向为你指向哪边是南方，这在地磁针受到影响时格外有用；最厉害的是，她能通过太阳在一天内的方位变化，帮你估算你的房间的光照时间。
