《工商時報》創刊於1978年12月1日，是一份積極報導經濟事務、國際貿易、國際財經、兩岸財經、投資理財、股市分析為主軸的專業財經報紙。創刊38年來，以一貫堅持的新聞理念，追求優質新聞報導，深獲華人地區專業經理人的肯定與青睞，更是企業經營者不可不閱讀的專業財經媒體。
2008年12月15日推出電子報紙-工商e報 (https://www.ctee.com.tw)，讓讀者於各地連線上網即可閱讀工商時報新聞，並有豐富多元的網站功能與服務。
2011年推出手機版APP，提供當日工商時報內容 (未含全部數據圖表、證券表版及非本報版權、未授權於網路刊登之內容)。
2016年在頁面上全新調整，並增加[速覽模式]、[搜尋網站新聞]功能服務，更符合讀者使用者手機可快速讀完及查尋新聞的需要。
手機版APP提供下列內容功能：
「精選」：嚴選、更新當天重點財經要聞，透過友善分類，讓您快速掌握一日大事。
「即時」：每日全天候的最新資訊，並隨時更新。
「專輯」：精選新聞議題，深入探討事件脈動。
「產業」：廣泛報導國內各主要產業市場脈動，提供市場商情。
「讀報」：為工商e報付費會員專屬服務，可依照版序完整瀏覽當日工商時報報面新聞
