Description
*Going back to the source and tracing the origins of Chinese culture.
*Recognizing characters deeply compared to other kids.
*Full narration, each character explanation feels like listening to a story!
*They say nowadays Chinese people can recognize characters but dont truly understand them. Recognizing means knowing the pronunciation and surface meaning, while understanding means grasping the underlying history and thought processes. This product aims to help people truly "understand" characters.
1. Suitable for:
1. Children aged 2~8;
2. Children who can already recognize characters can deepen their understanding of word meanings and origins with this product;
3. Foreign friends who are eager to learn Chinese characters.
2. Product Features:
1. Breaking through the challenges of learning Chinese characters: We know that learning Chinese involves mastering about 5,000 characters and 60,000 combinations. These characters are complex, have many strokes, and lack obvious logic.
But we found that when you understand how a character has evolved from its original structure, know its original meaning and how its interpreted, everything about its strokes becomes clear. Learning characters becomes so much easier.
2. No similar products on the market: Many products in the market offer recognition of 600, 800, or 1000 characters using rote memorization, which hardly engages beginners and lacks depth.
3. Highly summarized content: Based on Lü Bisongs “Overall Design Theory” from Beijing Language University, refined over years of research and practice, we focus on 137 radical characters and single characters. More complex characters are formed from these 137 characters. We explain each character from its etymology with the intention behind its creation, accompanied by illustrations, making it easy for beginners to understand. Mastering these 137 characters means you’ve got the building blocks of all characters; learning others will become easier and more interesting.
4. The product also includes the origins of radicals, like: “廴 (yǐn)”, “彳 (chì)”, “阝 (fǔ)”, “冫 (bīng)”... Many surprising origins reveal why characters with these radicals mean what they do. For instance, “阝 (fǔ)” is often thought to relate to ears, but it’s actually a pictogram resembling a cliff, so characters formed with it are related to cliffs, like “阻” originally meaning obstructed by a cliff, and “防” meaning to defend using a cliff.
5. For a more intuitive understanding of the essence of this product, please refer to the product diagrams. Each character is interlinked; for example, learning "人" enhances your understanding of "从", and learning "女" deepens your comprehension of "母".
User talklikeit commented:
This is an app I downloaded a while ago, and it has a lot of highlights. First, the “etymology” feature lists over a hundred common characters, explaining their original meanings and how they evolved to their current forms. This shows the product creators have great insight and talent—something I hadnt previously considered or focused on.
