Description
Perhaps you are having trouble locating your BMW in a large parking lot at night or you are unsure if you have locked your parked BMW. With My BMW Remote, you are able to access remote services to help you in these situations and more, providing you convenience and peace-of-mind. The remote functions of the My BMW Remote app provide you with a connection to your BMW via the mobile phone network.
Functions include the following:
>BMW eDrive Services: Charging status and vehicle range, display of charging stations, settings relating to charging and air conditioning for departure times as well as efficiency calculation for the driver’s own vehicle use
>Remote Door Lock & Unlock: send a remote command to lock or unlock your vehicle.
>AutoNavi Map Search: search for local businesses, restaurants, and more on the iPhone and transfer details to your BMW navigation system.
>Remote Sound Horn: send a remote command to sound the horn of your BMW to help locate the vehicle.
>Remote pre-ventilation: remotely turn on your BMW’s fan to cool the interior before entry on a hot day.
>Remote Flash Headlights: remote control of the exterior lights to help locate your vehicle.
>Vehicle Finder*: display current vehicle position on a map in the iPhone
*Note: This feature only works if the vehicle is within 1 kilometer from the iPhone and the vehicle’s ignition is turned off. It is not possible to access this service if your iPhone is located outside mainland China.
The following BMW vehicles that are equipped with the new generation navigation system professional and ConnectedDrive services will be able to utilize these functions:
- M135i from March 2013production date
- X3 SAV from April 2013 production date - 3 Series Sedan from January 2013 production date
- 5 Series Sedan and Gran Turismo from September 2012 production date
- 6 Series from March 2013 production date (including M6 models)
- 7 Series from July 2012 production date
Additional BMW models with the appropriate equipment will be released in the future.
The My BMW Remote app can be used exclusively by customers with an active BMW ConnectedDrive services contract and a compatible iPhone with iOS 6 or later. In order to use the BMW eDrive services, the special equipment package 6AG is required. After you have downloaded the app, you will need your personal access information (mobile phone number and 6 digit PIN) provided during service enrollment with your dealer to setup the app. If you are unsure of this information or need to change it, please visit your dealer or call the BMW Customer Service Center at 400 800 6666.
The My BMW Remote app is available free of charge as a BMW ConnectedDrive subscriber. Limited functionality is possible in the case of insufficient data transfer bandwidth and volume-based bandwidth limitations. Selected functions are based on service provisioning by third-party operators and may not be fully available at all times. Within this context it is necessary to note the specific requirements of these providers.
A broadband data connection is required; any costs incurred through this type of connection (e.g. due to roaming) are part of the customers contract with the network operator. Please note specific national demands and requirements. For this reason, BMW cannot provide any guarantee for unlimited compatibility and functionality of your mobile device in connection with the vehicle interface.
