The ARCHITECT’S FORMULATOR is the perfect tool for any Architect. This program contains over 400 formulas helpful for architect. ARCHITECT’S FORMULATOR combines all of the formulas from our Electrical, Carpentry and Plumbing Formulators. In addition, this product also includes Concrete and Excavations formulas, that perform calculations for excavating or filling soil, the concrete required for a job and the bricks required for a wall. The program also includes special formulas just for architect for concrete and steel design, parking area and sidewalk design and even swimming pool design, as well as basic formulas for wind load and wind overturning force. The 23 formulas just for architect’s included now are just the start of what we expect will grow to over 100 formulas in coming months.

The CARPENTRY section contains formulas that calculate the number of joists and studs required on a job. ARCHITECT’S FORMULATOR aids users to calculate the load on headers or the cost of hardwood flooring. There are even formulas to calculate the loads on walls and loads on beams. Formulas in the ELECTRICAL section calculate kilowatts, horsepower, efficiency, power factor, watts, amps, current, power, resistance, and voltage. This section includes formulas to calculate total resistance, capacitance, voltage drops, and transformer calculations.

The formulas in the PLUMBING section calculate areas of pipe walls and the weights of different pipes. ARCHITECT’S FORMULATOR is able to calculate the final temperature when two bodies of water are mixed. There are also formulas in this section to calculate the expansion of pipes, radiant heat and heat loss cooling requirements, head loss and fresh air in room requirements All formulas can be saved or E-mailed. The program also remembers favorites and recent formulas.

Some of the formulas in ARCHITECT’S FORMULATOR include:

Не поддерживает метрические единицы!

Продаётся в российском сторе, но не поддерживает метрические единицы, о чём, впрочем, ничего не сказано в описании... Нагрели на $10 - некрасиво...

Dont buy if you dont live in USA

The program may even be usefull, but unfortunately most of its use is reserved for US dwellers. We live in a "metric" world ad if a program is unsuitable for the rest of other 5,75 billion people Who dont give a crap about yardes libres an foots it should be clearly stated before taking their money...

Very Nice

It could use some more bells and whistles like code research or ADA information. Over all a must have for the intern and the old man boss!

Needs Refinement

Not a bad app, but it needs polishing. As is it contains several spelling errors. The formual definitions could be fleshed out a bit more...define each component of the formula more precisely, including which units are employed. For example, under the HVAC section, in Heat Loss, one of the items to enter is "Radiation Value". Is that U factor or R value? Not everyone who may use this app is thoroughly versed in every parameter required for a formula to work, but if they are defined in the app, the user can then know what information is needed or lacking more precisely. This app can be a teaching tool as well as for one who knows the formulas but wants an easy way to use them. Id give it higher stars pending needed upgrades.

Good start...

I understand it is impossible to make the apps for every architect needs. I think there are lots of calculations for electrical work but not for HVAC. I hope there will be some calculations to find rectangular and circular duct size, and the chart for the equivalance between them. Also it will be really nice if it has some information from IBC such as occupant load, outdoor air requirement, air balance calculation, and so on. Then you can give us update information as the building code updates in years. Thanks.

Caution

Full of errors, incorrect units and spelling mistakes affecting content - nice idea - poor construction

the worst of the worst

How anyone could screw up an idea this simple this badly, I have no idea. The vast majority of the formulae are of no use to practicing architects, but that hardly even matters because there are errors and inconsistencies everywhere. Many of the formulas dont even use units, rendering them completely useless. Those that do use units, use them inconsistently. Many words are misspelled, the grammar is poor, and the "formula definitions" are often so vague as to be laughable. I wouldnt trust it to add two single-digit numbers. I deleted it within an hour of installing it.
