Description
Simplified and more user friendly version of the Aurora Forecast 3D app. Based on user feedback this version named Rocketeer does not have advanced options such satellite orbits and sounding rocket trajectories. The aim is to provide an easy-to-use app with focus on auroral forecasting using only your phone location sensor as home position.
It renders the Earth in 3D with rotation and scaling at your fingertips. The Sun illuminates the globe as it updates every second. The auroral forecasts are up to 3 days ahead in time. The Sky module shows a fish-eye view of the sky including the predicted position of the auroral ovals, planets and stars as seen from any ground point location. On selected targets like the Sun, the Moon, or any planet, a fly-by-rocket mode is enabled for space travel to get a closer look at the target.
