Als ich diese App runtergeladen habe war ich erstmal begeistet wie einfach man Blogs mit einem sehr schönen Design erstellen kann. Das Problem ist nur, dass man mit seinen Blogs nichts anfangen kann außer diese auf der Homepage von author zu veröffentlichen und das für sage und schreibe 49,99€ und das auch noch nichtmal für immer sondern nur für ein Jahr. Zudem ist der Service auch noch total schlecht, man bekommt nicht mal eine eigene URL und man kann nur die Blogs mit Bildern Posten und nicht andere Datein wie Videos oder Audios. Ich frag mich wer auf diesen absurden Preis gekommen ist.

I’ve been using Author for the past few months and it’s become my favorite writing app. It’s super clean and the typography is beautiful. I’m more inspired to write than ever before. It’s amazing what a well designed app can do for creativity. Focus mode is also great, probably my favorite feature. It literally turns your computer into a white screen with a cursor. Simple but powerful. Highly recommed.

It’s a wonderful app, I’ll give it that. The UI is very clean and easy to use, very well designed too. I definitely get the drive to push the cloud subscription service too, but honestly I think that’s where this app falls short. If this were a service that pushed to Medium, Evernote, other services, or even just exported in various formats it would be an instant hit. I was personally looking for an beautiful editor to write and/or export in markdown format… But this app can’t do that unfortunately. If support for markdown were added, it would instantly be one of the most beautiful and well featured markdown editors on the market - I could see people paying for an app so well rounded with that feature support.
