Description
Beginning Blends Word Builder is designed to help children learn about the beginning consanant blends word sounds.
The app features the blends Bl, Cl, Cr, Dr, Fr, Gr, Pl, Pr, Sn, and Tr.
Builder Mode: For each beginning sound the student selects, there is list of ending sounds. After choosing a beginning and ending sound, clicking the "Read" button will display the new word, an image representing the word (so, a picture of a snail for the word snail) and will play the word. Working speakers (usually built in) or a headset are required to hear the sound. The app contains 100 different word combinations, sound files, and images. Great for young readers!
Quiz Mode: Test your knowledge of the beginning blends. Students are shown a picture with a "Read" button (to read the word if the picture is unclear) and a choice of three possible beginning blends. Do as many or as few questions as you want. Questions are randomly chosen. Score can be viewed or reset at any time.
