Description

The Beltone Tinnitus Calmer™ app uses a combination of sounds and relaxing exercises that aim to distract your brain from focusing on tinnitus. Over time the brain learns to focus less on the tinnitus. The app lets you manage your personal library of sound therapy files and allows you to create your own soundscapes from environmental sounds and small pieces of music. It will also track your usage, so you can see which sounds work best for you, and it contains some secondary stimuli like colors and exercises to help keep your mind occupied. Just download it and listen to it as you normally listen to music from your smart phone. If you wear Beltone® wireless hearing aids, you can stream directly through them; the sound you stream will be adjusted to compensate for your hearing loss. The app is a tool for anyone who has tinnitus. It should be used in combination with a tinnitus management programme or plan set up by a hearing care professional.

Surprisingly beautiful (and free)

Ive been an iOS user since the beginning, over seven years ago. That said, this is the first review Ive ever written on the App Store and after only a few minutes this app prompted me to break my long silence. Ive been suffering from tinnitus for 20 years and Ive tried every known remedy available to me. I wasnt sure how effective this app would be be, but my first thought was "its free, it cant hurt". After a few minutes of use, it became very clear that the creators of this app actually cared about the people they were creating it for. So far, its much better than the paid apps Ive been using for 5 or 6 years now. Im left feeling grateful to Beltone for creating this app. It feels like this was someones labor of love and, well, I feel loved.

very useful

I have used the app to mask my tinnitus and it has worked great! The sounds help me relax and stop thinking about tinnitus. I even fall asleep faster when the app is on

BEST APP EVER FOR TINNITUS!!!

This app is great for tinnitus. The ringing in my ear got so loud one night that I thought nothing would help. Then I found beltone and it really helped. Its even good to use if you cant sleep and dont have tinnitus.

Warning! Dont be fooled by the so called five star ratings.

This app is just terrible. It crashes and it causes the screen to freeze when you try to exit the app. Other than what the company listed that created the app, it should have been removed from the App Store. Please save yourself the trouble and dont download this app. You can find other apps for tinnitus control that doesnt cause problems on your iPod.
