Description
The best running tracker you own came free with your phone.
It is on your wrist, or in your pocket, and Apple makes it better every year. Keep recording with it. Beyond Routes is what happens afterwards. It reads the outdoor workouts already in your Apple Health, finds the routes you run again and again, and compares today’s run with every previous run you have made over the same ground.
THE ROUTES YOU REPEAT
Beyond Routes recognizes a repeated route from the GPS your workouts already carry. Nothing to set up, no segment to draw, no course to mark. Run the same loop the other way round and it stays a separate route, because it is a different run.
COMPARED WITH YOUR OWN HISTORY
• Mile by mile against yourself: this run, your record for each segment, and the matching segment of your fastest complete run on the route. Kilometres if you prefer them. Beyond Routes cuts every split, record and comparison to the unit you set.
• Every run on the route in one place, the trend across all of them, and the record for each mile.
• The run’s own detail, from pace and splits to elevation, heart rate, effort, energy, cadence and running dynamics, with each card saying where its figures came from and how much of the run they cover.
• Runs, walks, hikes and rides, each kind compared only against its own kind.
• A run your watch filed as a walk is one tap to put right. It leaves the walks’ records and joins the runs’. Nothing is written back to Apple Health.
• Corrections that hold. Rename a route, merge two, split one, move a run between them. Beyond Routes never undoes your correction on its own.
RUN IT AGAIN
Pick any run on a route and watch it again from the air, at the pace you ran it, with your fastest previous run on that route moving beside you the whole way. The gap between the two of you stays on screen, and you can see exactly where you lost it.
Open a route from a city you have moved away from, and more comes back than the time.
YOUR HISTORY STAYS YOURS
There is no account to make and nothing to import. The workouts are already in Apple Health, where you put them, and Beyond Routes reads them from there. It never writes to Health, and everything it works out stays on your iPhone. Delete the app tomorrow and your history is exactly where it was, ready for whatever you use next. Nothing here is holding it.
FREE AND PREMIUM
Two whole routes are free for ever. Not a trial, not a preview. On both of them everything works, uncapped: the full history, the trend, the mile records, flying any run on the route and choosing which run it races. Off them, your newest workout is open in full on every route.
Premium opens every route and every workout you have, as far back as Apple Health goes.
WHAT IT WILL NOT DO
It does not record workouts. It does not coach you, set you goals, rank you against strangers, or ask you to share anything with anyone. It explains what you already did, and has no opinion about what you should do next.
REQUIREMENTS
Outdoor workouts recorded with GPS and stored in Apple Health. A workout without a route cannot be matched to a route, so it is not imported.
