The BMW Art Car #18, which is based on the BMW M6 GT3, is inspired by the speed of racing cars and the tremendous changes of Chinese society over the past decades. The BMW Art Car #18 by Cao Fei adopts a mode of expression completely different from previous ones: The theme of this century is that we enter ‘a landscape of no man’s land’, e.g. autonomous cars and aircrafts. Her interpretation of the project transcends the current context of ‘cars’ and embraces new possible ways of immersion, such as the convergence of virtual worlds and reality.
