Description

The Cancer Emergency Response Tool (CERT) allows cancer patients to rapidly and effectively manage chemotherapy toxicity and disease-related problems which may require urgent hospital assessment. It is based on the widely used UKONS triage system and is designed to complement hospital-based advice on management of acute oncology problems. CERT covers 8 of the most serious medical complications and toxicities encountered by cancer patients. It assists appropriate decision making about when to seek medical advice, and speeds direct access to the local Cancer Centre when potentially life-threatening or urgent symptoms are present.
