Description

Characters makes it easy for writers, designers and developers to access special characters. They are easily found and copied to your clipboard, either as the character itself or the html code. For example, if you need the copyright symbol, just type "copy" into the search bar and the app finds the character youre looking for. With one click you can copy it to your clipboard. The app knows which characters you use the most and those will always stay at the top, so you can access them easily. “For me, Characters is an easy, and visually attractive, solution that’s faster than accessing and using Character Viewer.” – Dan Frakes, macworld.com “The best part about Characters is how it lets you copy characters to the clipboard.” – Federico Viticci, macstories.net “If you find yourself needing them a lot, or just want quick access to silly Emojis, Characters is well worth its $2.99 price tag.” – Shep McAllister, lifehacker.com “It’s simple, it works, and it looks great. And it’s the perfect example of the cheap single-serve apps that were hard to sell before the Mac App Store.” – Charlie Sorrel, cultofmac.com Available character sets: - Arrows - Emojis - Math - Symbols - Block elements - Currencies - Cyrillic - Digits - Dingbats - Geometric shapes - Greek - Latin - Latin Extended-A - Letter-like - Parentheses - Pictographs - Punctuation - Hebrew - Brackets - Phonetic Alphabet - Roman Numerals

A very well crafted app that does what you expect : let you quickly get your unicode characters.

Crap

Doesn’t works.. crap..

Findet kaum Sonderzeichen

Cantello · 12 years ago · v1.1.2

Improvement Ideas

I mostly got this app so that I can quickly find umlauts, as I don’t have a German Keyboard set up, and naturally it could be very nice if I ever get more into web design and development. I like the idea of quickly being able to grab symbols and icons. I’m not sure how easily it is to add my own yet- as I just downloaded it, so I am really hoping it is easy. Being a designer, it would be nice to be able to add my own collections of icons and symbols for easy access. But what I really wanted to say, is that I am not sure why but one of the settings „Letterlike“ is showing up duplicated in my settings list and I am not sure why… like 30 times duplicated.... And for some reason I cannot seem to disable Emocons and Hebrew, which I really don’t want to be looking at the whole time. Everything that is on the list, should be able to be removed in my opinion… Otherwise, I am pretty excited about this tool and look forward to using it.

Awesome

Thanks for adding Hebrew letters, responsive developer!

The missing characters utility for OS X

david_treblig · 13 years ago · v1.0.1

This small app is really helping me in a day-to-day basis. As a web developer, I also often need to swtich between the developer and designer mode and they made that dead simple. No more searching in the special characters service thats burried down the OS and no more searching on the Internet!

Not for El Capitan?

Noticed it doesn’t seem to work with Mac OS 10.11. Is an update in the works?
