Description
The Black, White and Blues in Chicago Quest, designed to compliment Amplify’s “Character and Conflict” ELA unit, opens up the front door of the Youngers’ apartment and lets students explore their neighborhood, giving students the context they need to understand the play A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry. This 3D world is made up of more than 150 photographs of Chicago’s South Side, taken between 1940 and 1960. In that world are hidden videos and essays that present the ideas of the great thinkers and artists of the Civil Rights Era, including James Baldwin, Martin Luther King Jr., and Howlin’ Wolf.
