Description
The purpose of the App is to provide physician-to-physician communication in the event of a biliary emergency. Biliary obstruction in patients with cholangiocarcinoma can be life-threatening. Patients with bile duct drainage tubes, biliary stents, ERCP or other medical procedures on the biliary tree are at high risk for bacterial infection and may warrant admission to a hospital with treatment as a medical emergency.
Because cholangiocarcinoma is rare, emergency room and community doctors outside of your specialized treatment team may not be familiar with the management of specific complications that may arise. This App will provide medical personnel with information on how to contact your doctor(s) should it be necessary. If your doctors cannot be reached, it will direct medical personnel to specific guidelines for your treatment.
The App also delivers the latest news and research about cholangiocarcinoma and provides patients and caregivers with the ability to track relevant health information related to cholangiocarcinoma diagnosis and treatment.
