When it remains connected it works great. The problems that I experience is that the app. indicates it’s offline several times a week which require me to manually adjust the thermostat before it works, or I have to do a complete logon to the app. and hope it connects. I’m a bit disappointed after a few years of flawless operation that I now have to tinker with this so often. Update 10/14/2016: App appears to be more stable since the release of macOS Sierra. I’d like to see a refresh update with the Menu Bar Icon preference actually working etc.

NEST INTERFACE UPDATE: Nest updated their interface for the one that you see in the screenshots. Climate supports resizing of its window so that you can adjust the window to better fit the new interface. I plan on getting an update released soon to fix some other compatibility issues (such as temp in the menu bar and some notifications) that occurred with the Nest update. Thanks for using Climate!

Climate provides quick and easy access to manage your Nest® thermostat directly the menu bar on your Mac. You no longer need to walk to your Nest in order to change temperature or settings.
Display your temperature settings directly in the menu bar. This allows you to quickly glance and verify that your thermostat is setup just as you like it.
Receive notifications straight to your desktop when your Nest® temperature has changed, has been set to Away and other important events.
Have you ever been home and wished that you could temporarily stop your Nests from getting set to Away? You can allow Climate to ensure that your Nest never enters away mode for up to 8 hours. Then you never need to worry about unwanted changes in temperature when your Nest thinks you are not home when you actually are.
**Configuring Notifications** I am working on preferences to control the notifications. Until that update, you can tweak how the notifications are displayed inside your Notifications System Preference pane.
**Important** In order to use this application, you will need to own a Nest® thermostat and have access to your online account at home.nest.com.

Updated… Really needs an update.
Basic Features not implemented
I am looking for a couple of features that have been here since the application’s inception. The notification of “Heating and Cooling” does not work! The Menu Bar icon also does not change from th leaf icon. It’s frustrating that this does not work!
Great App for Nest
I have been using this app on my Imac for about 6 months now and have had no issues, Works as if you were on the webiste with the same interface. I does use about 98mb of memory, but if your going to run a lot of apps in the background you have to expect this and prepare you computer with enough ram to handle the tasks your gping to give it, that’s way I run 32GB on my mac. Reading some of the other reviews, I have not had any of these problems, the apps opens fast and works the same as if you were on the website. This app was well worth the money spent and I use it more to control my nest than the app on my Samsung note 3 or note 10.1 (2014) tablet. I definitely recommend this app for a convient way to control your Nest products. I would like to see more options for control and longer energy usage history (2 months), but that is up to Nest to fix and has nothing to do with this app. Update: in last 2 weeks Climate has been diconnecting and having a hard time reconnecting, app seems to just sit there spinning and nothing happening. What happened to the support? Been using for a couple years and all of sudden these issues, please fix, thank you.
Not Much Functionality Left
Well, this one’s on me. I didn’t read the most recent reviews and I got screwed. Nest apparently made some changes that have reduced the utility of this app to that of a desktop shortcut. It certainly is not worth $5 anymore and that’s too bad. I have suggested to the deveioper that he pull this from the App Store.
no camera feed.
now wont even show camera feed…just spins….before the past 2 days it would crash…but i could reconnect….now nothing…all plug-ins are current etc…thermostat and nest protect is visible…but all my cameras will not connect…assuming developer has given up keeping up with NEST….but yet still sells it….all my machines are new model….imac….macbook air…all updated daily…so its not me….it WAS handy…..but not the end of the world…devopler should abandon project if he’s not going to keep up the build...
Fail !
I had been reluctant to spend $4.99 for this app, but decided to give it a try...doesnt work, just places a leaf icon in menu bar ? App customizations dont do anything. Very Disappointed ! I will try to get a refund post haste, but I have my doubts.
