Turned it on and it was intuitive. Exact instructions to the smallest and most difficult locations, even when we took the wrong exit on a roundabout, the instructions were instantly made as to how to correct. Absolutely brilliant - worth every penny!
Good Offline Satnav for U.K. + Ireland
Works very well, easy to navigate through the menus. Searching for locations is intuitive and easy.
Wonderful trip driving around England and Wales
I just returned from a two week trip to England and Wales. We used public transport around London for the first 4 days but then rented a car in Oxford and drove to Bath, Newport, Ludlow, Chester, Conwy etc. This app worked great. Database is in the phone so you dont need data service. It got us through all the roundabouts with ease. It tells you the speed limit for the road which really kept me out of trouble.
Stolen from me
I made a click on a Mac and suddenly it started downloading. I could not stop the download on a MAC. I tried to get help from Apple but I can’t get a refund. I do not want it and I do not want to pay for it. I give it one start for customer support.
So wish I could like it.
Ireland is not easy. Complicated village names, no street addresses, roundabouts. Copilot was just not that. My first day with copilot started at 1:00 in the afternoon. I had a 2 1/2 hour drive planned. I saw a great deal of Ireland with copilot that day. I arrived at my destination at midnight, 11 hours after I started. It wasnt until I drew on a map that I really figured out how to get there. On my third day, I came to a point that I just stopped the car and called my host to have them find me so I can follow. them to there home. My return to the airport took an additional 45 minutes driving in circles. I needed to find the rental return place. A taxi driver finally had me follow him in. On the motorway, the device did a nice job. I cant say the design is particularly intuitive. It certainly is not as useful as a tom-tom. Walking instructions were considerably better. Although very few sites of interest were listed. I requested a few cathedral names in Cork. In most cases I could not find the points of interest in the database. It works best if you have the actual GPS coordinates. In those cases I always found my spot. Having said all this, Im not sure if any GPS is any better in Ireland. The most often words I heard when I arrived hours late to my destination was, "dont trust the SAT-NAV". I cant say that in five days of traveling Ireland, I really saw what I want to see, but I saw a lot while driving in circles.
Very capable
Bought the UK version for upcoming trip to Ireland. Havent used it on the road yet, but very handy for planning routes and trial running. My only criticism so far is that its location file doesnt have a lot of smaller Irish towns & some tourist attractions are hard to find in it. But its easy to pick a spot on the map and add it to your route. And I love the ease of reordering stops in the route. Should work well on the road.
UK user
Bought this to use on my iPad during a trip to England for three weeks. I had a TomTom but didnt know how well it would work. I used both and this worked very well as did the TomTom. The good thing about this is it doesnt use any data.
