DATUM Worth It

DATUM has worked very well for me. The only thing I wish is there were more options for CSV or OTHER Export where it would be nice for example to be able to specifiy exporting every field as text i.e. quotes around the fields. But I was able to work around these limitations but it would be much better if it had more flexibility on export. Otherwise the SQL capabilities within the software are AWESOME and I could do all these things I needed to do to manipulate data since the files I was working on were too big for Excel exceeding the 1 MM record limit of Excel but were not problem at all for Datum. Nice job guys. Keep up the good work and improve the flexibility of Export if you would.

Une interface trop minimaliste et mal pensée pour des fonctions qui ne le sont pas moins. Enfin je n’ai pas pu essayer grand chose puisque la seule base que j‘ai pu charger (2,4 Go) bloquait l’application. Je n’ai jamais réussi à ouvrir mes autres bases SQLite, plus petites. J’ai immédiatement demandé le remboursement et mis ce “machin” à la corbeille.

Interface minimaliste mais agréable. Quelques problèmes dans la fonction d’importation de table depuis un fichier CSV (fonctionne avec SQLite Manager sous Firefox). L’exportation de tables vers le CSV n’est pas paramétrable : choix des séparateurs, etc. Ce qui peut causer des surprises.

Does everything it promises

Really good tool in my opinion. I’m super happy with it. I needed something because I wanted to get started with Rails and needed a GUI to see what I’m doing in the database. Does the job perfectly for me. I can see everything I do, edit, create new tables or columns. Also it gets frequent updates and the support is awesome. Had a little problem and within hours I had a reply telling me my problem will be fixed in the version coming within a few days. I don’t know what to add to it. But also I’m a starter so that’s why 5 Stars.

Version 4.4 does not work

Can’t open my databases with version 6.0
