Description

The Dexcom G5® Mobile Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System is the first device that lets you treat without pricking your finger.* Use this app if you have the Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System. Medicare beneficiaries should not use this app. The beneficiary may NOT use their phone for display of Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) data and still be eligible for reimbursement by Medicare for Therapeutic CGM. The Dexcom G5® Mobile Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System provides real-time glucose readings for patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes every five minutes. With Dexcom G5 Mobile, dynamic glucose data can be accessed and shared safely and conveniently anywhere, anytime to your smart device. * CGM-based treatment requires fingersticks for calibration; may result in hypoglycemia if calibration not performed or symptoms/expectations do not match CGM readings. The Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System provides personalized trend alerts right on your smart device and lets you see when your glucose levels are going too low, or too high, so you can better manage your diabetes. The Alert Schedule feature lets you schedule and customize a second set of alerts. For example, you can set the schedule to match your work hours and have different alert settings during the rest of the day. Custom alert sounds are available, including a Vibrate-Only option on the phone for glucose alerts other than the Urgent Low Alarm. The Always Sound setting allows you to receive certain Dexcom CGM Alerts even if your phone sound is off, set to vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This will allow you to silence calls or texts but still receive CGM Alerts, including Low and High Glucose alert, Urgent Low Alarm, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts. Always Sound is on by default. A Home screen icon shows you if your Alerts will sound or not. For safety, three alerts cannot be silenced: Urgent Low Alarm, Transmitter Failure, and Sensor Failure. In addition to the exceptional performance provided by the Dexcom Sensor, you’ll receive other valuable features: • Intuitive and user-friendly interface • Dexcom SHARE® remote monitoring is built into the G5 app, allowing you to share your glucose data with up to five followers, who can remotely monitor your glucose data and trends on their compatible smart device with the Dexcom Follow app. Share and Follow functions require an internet connection. • Health App access so you can share retrospective glucose data with third party apps • Today view widget, which allows you to view your glucose data on the lock screen of your smart device Apple Watch View your glucose information, trend graph, and alerts and alarms right from your wrist with the Dexcom G5 Mobile Apple Watch app: • Use the digital crown to scroll through 1, 3, or 6 hours of glucose trend data • Dexcom G5 Mobile complications allow you to view your glucose number and arrow from your watch face • Add the Dexcom G5 Mobile app to the Dock and enable background refresh for best performance Customer Reviews This app store should not be used as your first point of contact to resolve technical or customer services issues. Great App with room to grow

andymc1 · 9 years ago · v1.2.3

This is a great app so far and I have found it works great for my use with iPhone. Im glad to see I can quickly glance on the Today screen instead of having to open the app every time. I also enjoy the Apple Health integration. I would like to see this area improve more. For those that enter Carbs, Insulin, Exercise, etc, I would like to see further sharing of this information with Apple Health. Still a great app in my review!

Can be better Bluetooth

love this dexcom it helps a lot but its also off of my blood sugar a lot and some times disconnects really easy so if you have a child who likes to play on their phone and has dexcom it will disconnect a lot

Terrible.

K.N.S · 9 years ago · v1.2.3

Literally all it does is ping my phone constantly to tell me that the connection "Is lost", despite my transmitter being less than 3" from my iPhone. Never shows a blood sugar ever.

Good not great

Would be nice if there were more analytics. Averages by day/time etc. Correlation between BG and insulin usage would be nice too. Theres some really valuable data that is loaded and it isnt hardly used for anything to put it to good use. Id even like to be able to just export all the data in a spreadsheet too and do analysis myself. The app is useful and reliable but leaves a lot to be desired.

One major improvement needed

Derekjp · 9 years ago · v1.2.3

To get more than two stars from me they need to add a timer that shows how much time remains before the initial two test calibration is needed (a two hour countdown) and the time the next calibration is required

Cant live without it!

Becksstein · 9 years ago · v1.2.3

This is the best app ever for a type 1. I feel so great knowing my blood sugars at all times, and the alarms keep me safe at night/driving/at work etc. The convenience of having it on the phone really helps!!!

COULD BE BETTER

Golden-Ninja-Monkey · 9 years ago · v1.2.3

Great update, however, theres a handful of things that could be improved. #1 The new complication feature for the Apple Watch is simply a shortcut to the app. This is useless! We want to see our glucose number here! The idea is that we can simply look at our watch face and see our number/trend arrow, without opening the app. #2 I would also like to see more functionality applied to the watch. For example, It would be great if we were able to enter meter calibrations as well as Carb and Insulin doses right from the wrist! You can make it so it uses the watches Digital Crown to make entering super quick & easy! #3 As for the iPhone, we would really like to be able to simply pinch & scroll through our day on the glucose graph. This would make it much easier to follow our daily glucose levels in greater detail. On that note, to help make viewing even easier, I would also like to see the option of having a continuous line on the graph, as opposed to just getting a bunch of dots. It would also be great if there was a dark mode that could enabled. This would be especially helpful at night, so we dont blind ourselves! I think you guys are on the right track. I hope to see these and other changes in the next update, as it will make for a more practical experience for us diabetics.
