Description

Search the dictionary and find the native terms that locals use. Translate your menu for tourists, cook international cuisines. Communicate globally about food! Very practical on holidays, and indispensable for travel in Europe. Includes key phrases for reservation, etc. Diner Dictionary lists a wide variety of food items, ingredients, cooking terms and is a unique translation resource in the domain of food. All food-terms with speech in 8 languages, 2-way translation in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese and Dutch. No internet needed, the database is built-in, no roaming costs. You can set a base language independently of the language of translation when you eat in Switzerland, Belgium or another bi-lingual region where you know some words in each language and like some more support. For instance you can simply show the way of cooking the beef to the waiter in large type.

Gadget inutile

Traductions approximatives, fautes grossières ("désert" au lieu de "dessert"), pauvreté du contenu (le mot "flan" est absent, par exemple), ce prétendu dictionnaire est inutilisable. Dans un restaurant, en Autriche, il ne ma pas aidé à comprendre le quart des plats sur la carte. Lidée est bonne : il reste à la réaliser.

Esse aplicativo (Diner Dictionary) é um verdadeiro golpe. Impressionante como ele é aceito na App Store, já que seu objetivo é apenas subtrair o dinheiro dos incautos. O vocabulário é muito restrito e omisso para ter qualquer utilidade prática. No entanto, o mais engraçado são os erros grosseiros que o aplicativo comete. Em português, na base da tela, ele chama a "Calculadora" de "Talkulator", talvez porque ela fale. Chips é "batata frita", Crawfish vira "Lagosta", "Milk Shake" é "Badito" "Honeydew" é o sinônimo exótico de "Melon" em inglês. Ele põe "Horse" como "Cavalo" como se as pessoas comessem isso, mas não existe "palmito", embora o autor deixe espaço para uma fruta exótica do Vietnam: "Rambutan", cuja tradução para o português é esclarecedora ("Rambutan") Ele ousa definir "medium" e também "periwinkle", palavra muito menos comum que "snail". O alemão invade o português já que a tradução de "Potato Salad" é "Kartofflelsalat". Nas carnes os erros são desesperadores: "Prime Rib" vira "Bife a Cortador" e "Rib Eye" vira "Lombo". As categorias para pedir são aleatórias. "Rãs" entram no mesmo nível que "Meat", traduzido como "Carnes Frias" Basta! Os leitores já se divertiram o bastante.

Nette Idee, optisch und funktional gut umgesetzt. Es fehlt natürlich noch einiges an Begriffen, aber daran kann man ja arbeiten :) Stürzt in der Suchfunktion manchmal ab wenn man in die beschriebene Suchzeile klickt.

Dopo questultimo aggiornamento é diventato uno strumento perfetto! Corretti tutti i difetti. Finalmente quando cenerò allestero non avrò più problemi nel leggere il menù! Aplicazione davvero ben fatta, utilissima e molto funzionale! Complimenti!!!
