Description

Divvy makes splitting the check as easy as snap, drag, and pay. Just snap a photo of the bill, drag each item to the person who ordered it, and see how much everyone owes. "The coolest and most useful bill splitter Ive ever used… This is the type of app that will make me wonder a year from now how I ever figured out a restaurant check with just a calculator." — Steve Cooper, Toque Magazine Splitting restaurant checks is a hassle. Divvy makes it fun & easy by automatically reading the prices on your bill using state-of-the-art optical character recognition so you dont have to type them in. Add guests from Contacts, using cartoon icons, or snap a QuickPic of your friends across the table. Then, just drag each item on the check to the people who ordered them to easily calculate total & tip for individuals or groups. Divvy takes care of all the math, so you can finish the meal with dessert rather than homework. Features: • Drag people at your table into groups to total and pay together • Adjust tip calculations, and choose whether or not to tip on tax • Split up items people shared, even unequally • Add guests from contacts, by grabbing a quick photo, or using cartoon icons • Use Smart Rounding to round everyones share to an even dollar • Detailed breakdown of what everyone owes including pre-tip, tip, and total amounts. Easily see how much to put on your credit card and how much tip to write in later • Optionally calculate tip including coupons like the ones from popular daily deal sites • Tax is automatically split based on how much each person spent. Support for items like drinks that already have tax included • Divvy gives you feedback when photographing and splitting your check for fast & accurate recognition Divvy only works on printed restaurant checks and requires an iPhone 4 or above. We couldnt be more excited about Divvy, and theres a lot more on the way! Watch a video of Divvy in action at: http://divvythatup.com/

Great app need updating

weRtheborgUwillBassimilated · 9 years ago · v2.0.1

One of the best apps for splitting bills. One splitting is complete you verify totals so that you know you did it right. The OCR is accurate. Need to update, add names instead of avatar. Be able to share/send splits via text or email and save them. Hasnt been updated since 2013. Please update.

Photo of receipt not good enough

WM21 · 9 years ago · v2.0.1

Big disappointment. Even a clear image of the receipt will still require you to manually enter and/or correct values. This app will leave you floundering while you try to capture an "acceptable" photo. If you accomplish that you face the additional embarrassment of furiously tapping your screen and trying to type in values that the app "had trouble with" while your group and the servers wait for a final check.

Works very well, just could use an update to deal with mutiples

Bbtannon4 · 9 years ago · v2.0.1

Ive only had one occasion when the OCR didnt work, otherwise it does perfectly. I agree with other reviews that the cartoonish GUI should be updated and the pictures should be replaced with name options. My biggest issue though is when there are multiples on the menu, but no way to figure that out. A menu will often say: 2 of this item - $5, and it means $5 each, but it doesnt recognize that and there is no way to fix it, so its fairly useless in that case.

Very convenient, easy to use, nice user interface

Katofdays · 13 years ago

This is a very well-made app. After using this just once and following the prompts, I was able to get the hang of it. It is actually able to scan all of the numbers on the screen so theres no manually entry--very cool. It took me under two minutes to assign menu items to my friends and find out who owed what. I could even merge the total bills of two people paying together, round to the nearest dollar, and divide up an appetizer by thirds (since I ate more than my half…). Very cool and way better than any other check splitting apps out there that Ive ever found. This will pay for itself considering how often I overpay with friends at restaurants. No more!

Already Recouped my $2.99

ellis lindell · 13 years ago

Downloaded this app this morning and already saved the 2.99 having lunch with co-workers. Im always the guy who throws in $20 extra because its easier than dealing with it The OCR recognized the receipt perfectly. Its actually pretty fun to use.

Night out with friends: simplified

Nenasdog51510 · 13 years ago

I just bought the app and tried it out - this is going to change nights out with friends or co-workers when I really just ordered a salad. So easy to use - the app walks you through any questions and you can verify if everything adds up. I kinda love it.

Great app!

Bought this app today and already love it! I hate asking waitstaff for separate checks but always end up paying more than my share of a group bill because I dont want to quibble over the details. Problem solved thanks to Divvy!
