All reviews →Allstate refuses to see the problem with the iPhone 5 even though I have shown them the comparison with my wife's iPhone 6. They just say there is a chip difference, I have supposedly have gone as fast as 124 miles an hour. They need to fix or tell everyone that their app does not work with iPhone 5. It may not "increase" your rates but you do not get any discounts.
The app does not record speed correctly on an iPhone 5. Driving 70 to 75 I have had it record anywhere from 85 to 124 miles an hour. It is incorrect at slower speeds. It records hard and severe braking wrong as well, I assume because the speed is wrong. If it is showing a faster speed then you are doing and you slow to zero than it would show faster braking. My wife has an iPhone 6 which shows speed and braking correctly when we ride together. You can compare the two side by side on Drivewise.
Data Hog
Uses a lot of data! Make sure savings for insurance is worth paying the overage of data! AT&T charges $15 for every 1 GB over. It also uses your battery up fast because it requires location service to be on all the time! I work midnight so I get hit high risk because I work after midnight and I drive a semi truck after midnight for the Post Office and it continues to run. My agent said thats OK they can track while I am driving for work because it just wants to track my driving habits!! Doesnt the insurance card/coverage follow the car? The company has DriveCam® and PeopleNet® were already getting tracked by the company, I dont need to be tracked by my personal insurance while at work! I like the old way where Allstate has a unit that plugs into your cars OBD 2 connector!
Useless
Between this app and the regular online version, Ive tried to log in a dozen times to see my rewards but theres always an "error".
Wont work
I download Drivewise app but as soon as I go to sign in, it says to use Allstate Mobile app which has Drivewise link in it, but doesnt offer same features as the Drivewise app like the find my car feature they have been advertising.
Dont work
App wont open and no support. Data/battery hog when it did work in the past.
Too many bugs!!!!
Doesnt track my trips. Ive installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the app more times than I can count. Garbage. Why do I have to have this to get a discount on my insurance?
