Description
E-Wire Calc is an enamelled copper wire (magnet wire) tool based on the industry standards IEC, NEMA or JIS. It provides several functions for the determination of various technical characteristics of the wire in the range 0,010 - 0,8 mm or AWG 58 - 20 respectively.
The function DIAMETER allows the conversion of mm, inch and AWG
The function RESISTANCE shows the nominal resistance for the given bare copper wire according to the set standard or calculates the diameter for the given resistance respectively
The function METALS allows the calculation of bare wire diameters of different metals for a given resistance.
The function RESISTANCE TOLERANCE shows the minimal and maximal permitted resistance for a given nominal copper wire diameter according to the set standard.
The function SIZES calculates the quantity of enamelled copper for a selected unit of length, the length for a selected unit of quantity and the cross section for a given bare wire and outer diameter.
The function BREAKDOWN VOLTAGE shows the minimum voltage of an enamelled copper wire with a given nominal diameter for different addition / increase classes.
The function WINDING TENSION calculates the maximal winding tension in cN recommended by ELEKTRISOLA for a given nominal copper wire diameter.
The function OVERALL DIAMETER TOLERANCE shows the minimal and maximal permitted outer diameter for an enamelled wire with a given nominal diameter in different addition / increase classes according to the set standard.

E-Wire Calc 2.0 — completely rebuilt from the ground up.
The whole app has been rewritten to make selecting the right enamelled wire faster, clearer and much more comfortable to use.
WHAT'S NEW
• All-new interface: the old segmented dial is gone. Every calculation now lives in a clean, scrollable card with large, easy-to-read values.
• Choose your own layout: enable only the calculations you need — Diameter / AWG / Inch, Resistance, Sizes, Breakdown Voltage, Max. Winding Tension, Outer Diameter Tolerance — and see all of them at once, updating live as you
type.
• Precise diameter entry: a new ruler-style spinner with selectable step size (0.001 / 0.01 / 0.02) plus a built-in numeric keypad for exact input.
• Min / nom / max at a glance: resistance and tolerances are shown on a visual scale, with the selected metal and the applied standard right next to the result.
• 25 metals and alloys: Cu, Al, Ag99.99, CCA and HTCCA grades, CuSn, CuNi, CuMg, Ms70, silver-plated copper and brass, plus the tension-optimised wires RCW, ITW, HTW, SHTW, XHTW and EHTW.
• Built-in help: tap the info icon on any card to learn what the calculation does.
• Make it yours: light and dark mode, adjustable font size, default metal and standard.
• 8 languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Japanese and Chinese.
• Designed for every screen: responsive layout for iPhone and iPad in portrait and landscape, with side navigation on larger displays.
• Your settings and last entries are restored the next time you open the app.
