It freeZes and doesnt allow you to chart the purges after one. Waste of 2 bucks
Great Feedback Tool for Coaches!!
As a Division I softball coach I can say that we were looking for a tool to monitor and provide feedback to pitchers during " pens". This app is excellent for that purpose. Cant wait for the Bp cage app!!!! Edge has great stuff for coaches check them out. Congrats guys!!!!
Functional and fun app
Great app to have. Requiring all my players to have it as its easy for them to track on their own. Saves me tons of time and they email me their results after if I cant watch. Ease of use is off the charts and Im certain Ill find more and more ways to use it. Great work edge guys. Keep em coming!
Best bullpen app
Used this app for all of our pens since the app became available. Great for getting info to players and also very valuable for recording info
Nice app..but not quite perfect.
Pros: Very simple and easy to use. Email summary feature. Like the "hit" and "miss" wording rather than "ball" & "strikes". Like the session date automatically captured, email format, and strikezone image. Cons: Does not number pitches in diagram. So cant tell pitch sequence. Nor show pitch type on diagram. Can delete a pitch, but not a bullpen session. Nor a pitcher. Once session is ended, its permanent. Cant configure much in the tool, or compare sessions, or stats.
Good app
Nice app. . .i track our pitchers and this is a nice app. . .showing the % after a session has ended would be nice.
Good App, but some of its features need enhancement
The pitch location chart needs to be numbered in coordination to the pitch sequence page. Also, it would be nice if the different pitches on the chart could be color coordinated or marked with different symbols. This way you can look at the chart and know that you not only "Hit" your spot, but you hit it with a curve ball, fast ball, etc. Right now, all you see are Green dots for a "Hit" location, and a Red dot for a "Miss". By looking at the chart, it is virtually impossible to tell where each pitch type finishes. I would like the ability to leave a bullpen session without having to "end" the session. I have some bullpen or simulated games go over 50-60 pitches. If this is the case, I always have the pitcher simulate a game and have him only throw 15-20 pitches at any given sequence. He then takes a 3-5 minute break to simulate the bottom half of the inning. During this time, I usually have another pitcher throw as so we arent wasting that 3-5 minutes. The original pitcher then comes back to carry on his pitches. However, if I close out of the bullpen for one pitcher to start another, I have to "End" the first pitchers bullpen completely. It would also be nice to be able to chart where the pitch was "intended" to be thrown. Possibly by adding a button next to hit and miss that says "intended". You would also need to add quadrants to the ENTIRE area, not just to the strike zone, but outside as well. Then you touch the quadrant(s) intended, hit the intended button, then chart the pitch and location. If the pitch actually lands in the intended quadrant areas selected, then it should automatically register a "Hit". If it misses the quadrants, then it registers a "miss". Of course, you can override this, with the "hit - miss" buttons. You should also be able to change the pitch type or outcome, rather than having to just "delete" it. I have charted a pitcher and realized that I messed a pitch type up four pitches prior. Your only option is to leave it or to delete it. If you delete it, you screw up the whole sequence, especially if you are using an outside source for the sequencing (e.g. Our teams bullpen sequence plan). As long as the session hasnt ended, you should be able to touch any pitch, regardless of where it is in the sequence and change pitch type, location, outcome, etc... This should then automatically populate on the location chart. Maybe also show if the pitcher was throwing out of "wind-up" or "stretch". This App is good, but it has the ability to be GREAT. quadrants to all areas on the image....even out of the strike zone quadrants.
