Electric motor drives are commonly used to control motor operation in a variety of applications from residential furnaces to large industrial pumps. Familiarity with the types, parts, and features of electric motor drives is vital for technicians and maintenance professionals who install and troubleshoot equipment in the field. The Electric Motor Drive Augmented Reality (AR) app can be used to help bridge the gap between electric motor drive theory and hands-on experience. The Electric Motor Drive AR app provides a safe, virtual experience of selected industry-leading electric motor drives using interactive 3D models. By scanning the cover of the Electric Motor Drive Installation and Troubleshooting textbook, users are able to display each electric motor drive in the Electric Motor Drive AR app. Users can then navigate around the parts and features of electric motor drives that are typically accessed during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks. These features include keypad controls, displays, status indicators, communication ports, and relay, power, and control terminal blocks. Zooming into each part or feature provides detailed magnification to promote greater understanding. Note: The Electric Motor Drive AR app includes an intuitive user interface and convenient help section. This app requires either the Electric Motor Drive Installation and Troubleshooting, Third Edition, printed textbook or eTextbook, which are available at www.atplearning.com.
